Take Action
Our Campaigns
UCWA members are fighting for better wages, safer workplaces, and stronger rights across Canada. Here's where we stand.
Why campaigns matter
Every campaign starts with workers speaking up. When we organize together around shared goals, we win real changes — in our contracts, in our workplaces, and in the laws that govern our lives. These are the fights we're leading right now.
In Progress
Active campaigns
Fair Wages for All Workers
We're pushing for a $22 minimum wage across all sectors we represent, with annual cost-of-living adjustments tied to the Consumer Price Index.
Predictable Scheduling Rights
Too many workers receive their schedules with less than 48 hours' notice. We're demanding a minimum two-week advance notice requirement and compensation for last-minute changes.
Workplace Mental Health Standards
Mental health is a workplace safety issue. We're advocating for mandatory mental health policies, access to counselling benefits, and anti-harassment protections in every collective agreement.
Portable Benefits for Precarious Workers
Contract and part-time workers deserve the same benefits as full-time employees. We're campaigning for portable benefits that follow workers across employers.
Retail Sector Wage Increase — Ontario
After months of intensive bargaining, UCWA secured a landmark 12% wage increase over three years for over 420 retail workers across Ontario.
Right to Disconnect Policy
UCWA successfully negotiated right-to-disconnect clauses into collective agreements covering office workers, ensuring members are not penalized for not responding to work communications outside of scheduled hours.
