Elected Executive

UCWA is governed by an elected executive board drawn from our membership.
Thom Cole
National President
Thom has been a UCWA member since 2019 and was elected National President in 2021. he previously served as Regional Director for Ontario.
Ammer Malik
Secretary-Treasurer
Ammer oversees UCWA's finances and administration. A former office administrator, he joined the union in 2019 and has served on the executive since 2023
Fayaz Qadir
Director of Organizing
Fayaz leads UCWA's membership growth and new workplace campaigns. He has organized over 6 new bargaining units since joining the executive in 2020.
James Whitfield
Director of Bargaining
James brings 18 years of collective bargaining experience. He has led negotiations for some of UCWA's most significant agreements.
